Don Hopkins showed The Founders to Steve Jobs and Bill Joy. The picture is three Sun founders. The heads are PopupTarget regions — they pop when you point at them, and all at once when you click the background. That is Reveal all links. Bill Joy is one of those heads.

Jobs jumped up and down: "That sucks! That sucks! Wow, that's neat. That sucks!"

The best part was popping all three heads at once: Don held the optical mouse up to his mouth and blew and sucked into it, secretly pressing and releasing the button, so it looked like he was inflating them.

A man hung around through several loops. By the time Don got back to Emacs, the man said he used to use Emacs on ITS. Don asked his username. "WNJ." That was Bill Joy. Don had been inflating Joy's own head without recognizing him, because Joy had shaved his beard.
